Michael began his career as an institutional fixed income security trader. He entered the bond business in 1997 working with SAFECO in their Hoboken office. In 1999, Blount joined Chubb’s contract team as an underwriter and enjoyed an 8 year career as a contract underwriter, senior underwriter, pricing and portfolio manager, International Home office underwriter (Europe, Australia), Home office underwriting officer( Philadelphia, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles), and Assistant Vice President, Assistant Manager New York Branch. In 2007 Blount joined the Hanover Bond team as a Regional Underwriting Manager with responsibilities for New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. In his 13 year career as a surety underwriter Mr. Blount has personally underwritten and managed over $50 MM in written premium without a contract underwriting account loss of any significance.
Barry graduated from the University of Hartford with a B.S. in Business Management in 2005. He began his surety career in 2005 with Colonial Surety Company as a field underwriter for the NYC region. After Colonial Surety Barry has worked as a contract surety underwriter for Liberty Mutual Surety, CNA Surety, and currently at QBE Surety managing the New York City region. Barry’s background has maintained a focus on contract surety ranging from small privately held contractors to jumbo national and international contractors. Barry is active in the NYC Surety Association, NJ Surety Association, and The Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA). Barry is originally from Brooklyn, NY, grew up in Northern NJ, and currently resides in Hoboken, NJ.
